Peter Louis is happy to announce the opening of Peter Louis Arts gallery in New York city. The gallery opened in November 2005. After several years working privately and with the online gallery, this is a new venture.
Located in the busy Flatiron district of Manhattan, the gallery is on 19th street between 5 and 6 avenues. The Flatiron district is a bustling hub of business, shopping and restaurants and is conveniently accessed by subway and bus.
The business started out several years ago promoting the limited edition crystal sculptures of Hindu deities that were produced by Lalique, Baccarat and Daum. Following that introduction, the business expanded to handle other Indian art and paintings. Initially focusing on contemporary Indian art, we have since embraced Indian art from the past century and also, Indian miniature paintings. Believing that there is beauty and artistic expression in all areas of Indian fine arts, we hope to continue to develop all these areas.
At the same time, the gallery will also explore art from other cultures and countries. We want the art to resonate with us first, because we believe that that is the best way to help art to resonate with others. In this way, Indian art will continue to be a prime focus, especially as it continues to make an impression on a global audience, but there is also room for other expressions. At this moment, the gallery will be focusing mainly on paintings, works on paper, prints, and sculptures.
